Have you ever heard anything about Yoga that appealed to you? Something that resonated with you and made you think I need some of that ‘Yoga’ in my life! What was it? What do you find appealing about Yoga? Maybe take a moment to pause and give this some thought, because there really are lots of appealing things about Yoga. Most importantly of all, I think, is that Yoga is for everybody and every body.
What often happens after you first think of trying Yoga is that you talk yourself out of trying Yoga. Maybe this is because social media has repeatedly told you that you have to be in your twenties, have blond hair, a slim waist and be able to stand on your hands to ‘do’ Yoga. Or you may also have heard that Yoga is a load of woo woo nonsense that you don’t want any part of. It could be for a number of reasons which are more often than not, far from being true.
If you have ever thought about attending a Yoga class, you thought about doing so for the right reasons. Yoga can bring peace and calm to your everyday life. Yoga can help you build strength and flexibility in your body. Yoga can help relieve chronic pain. Yoga can reduce stress, depression and anxiety. Yoga can help you sleep better. Yoga can improve your posture, balance and coordination. Yoga can support your cardiovascular health. Yoga can increase your sense of self worth and self confidence. Yoga can help you heal from past trauma. Yoga can help you process grief. Yoga can enable you to be part of a loving community. Yoga can bring you home to yourself through your breath. You just have to take that first step and experience a Yoga class for yourself to fully believe how good Yoga is for your health and wellbeing.
The even better news is that you are not too old, too tired, too big, too inflexible, too weak, too shy or too anything to try Yoga. In fact if you feel you are any of these things, this is precisely why you should come to a Yoga class.
At Earth Tree Yoga our Yoga classes are not about learning how to stand on your hands or hold difficult balances, although this can be fun! Our Yoga classes are about bringing yoga to you and greeting you exactly where you are in your body and your mind. There is no judgement or competition in our classes. Our aim is to help you find peace and ease in your body and mind.
At Earth Tree Yoga Studio we offer five weekly timetabled Yoga classes that are suitable for Beginners. Here are a few of the questions we are most commonly asked.
