The Full Moon in Sagittarius on 31 May is the last full moon before the summer solstice, inviting us to reflect on all that we have achieved since the New Moon in Sagittarius that fell on December 20, just before the winter solstice 2025. Although the winter solstice falls close to the traditional new year, meaning we can be excited to make a new start and set resolutions, the short days and cold weather are often not conducive to “go-getting” behaviour. As the summer solstice approaches, the energy is gaining momentum, and this full moon (already full of energy due to it being the “peak” of the lunar cycle) in fiery Sagittarius galvanises us further, making us more than ready to pursue our goals and dreams. Reflect on the last six months–do your goals need re-energising, or have you fulfilled them and are ready for a new adventure? The ideas that arise could be a helpful basis for your intentions for the summer solstice.
Sagittarius is a freedom-seeking adventurer, so this full moon’s energy perfectly complements the ebullience of the summer. Take time to let go, be spontaneous and have fun during this full moon. If you want to lean into this energy and not consider the goal-setting mentioned in the previous paragraph at all, that’s fine too–life is for living and it’s important to tune into what you need at this moment (and perhaps your next big idea will come to you when you loosen the reins a little bit). Whether you feel called to be productive, social, or fun-loving this full moon (and you may find you have the energy to be all three!), you are exactly where you need to be.
